Jaundice in babies is common. Signs of jaundice in a baby include yellow skin, yellow eyes, fatigue and trouble feeding. It is usually harmless and it goes away in 1 or 2 weeks. If the jaundice appears within 24 hours of birth, or is still present after 2 weeks, contact your doctor. Most of the time, it is caused by the liver not working like it should. It can also be due to an infection. All cases of jaundice in newborn babies should be checked by a doctor or nurse.
