What is it?
Caring for someone can be a challenging task. Many people provide informal support for friends or family members who need it. However, there are many additional roles and responsibilities a carer has. The person you care for may have a disability, mental illness, chronic health condition, terminal illness or is frail.
Caring for someone over a long time can be physically and emotionally tiring. It is important to look after your own health and wellbeing as a carer. If you are caring for someone and are struggling to cope, support is available. Talk to your GP about the right support for you.
