If you have a medical condition that could affect your ability to drive safely, you will need yearly medical assessments. Medical assessments are needed for anyone who has had a medical condition that impacts their ability to drive. The assessment needs to be done before your birthday each year. Common conditions requiring a driving and vehicle assessment include:

  • Đột Quỵ
  • Heart disease
  • A neurological condition
  • Amputation or loss of function to limbs
  • Vision problems
  • Bệnh Tiểu Đường

As an Australian driver licence holder, you must report any permanent or long-term illness, injury or incapacity that may affect your ability to drive safely. You must also never drive when your ability to drive safely is affected by an illness, injury or the effects of a medical treatment. If you have any questions about driving and your medical history, speak to your GP.
