What is an eyelid lesion?

  • Styes – a small, red, painful lump that on the base of your eyelash or under the eyelid. Most styes are caused by a bacterial infection. 
  • Chalazion – a swollen bump on the eyelid. It happens when the eyelid’s oil gland clogs up. It is usually not painful.

Your GP will talk to you about your symptoms and the right treatment for your eyelid lesion.
