What is it?
An eyelid lesion is a lump on the eyelid. They are common and can be painful or irritating. There are two main types of lesions, they are:
- Styes - a small, red, painful lump that on the base of your eyelash or under the eyelid. Most styes are caused by a bacterial infection.
- Chalazion - a swollen bump on the eyelid. It happens when the eyelid’s oil gland clogs up. It is usually not painful.
Your GP will talk to you about your symptoms and the right treatment for your eyelid lesion.
