What is rheumatic heart disease?
Rheumatic fever can cause damage to the heart. This is called rheumatic heart disease. The damage to your heart makes it hard for your heart to work properly. If you have rheumatic fever more than once it can make your heart damage worse. Your GP will talk to you about your symptoms.
