What is it?

Foot pain can affect the toes, midfoot, ankles, arches and heel. There are many types and causes of foot pain. Common causes include foot abnormalities, toe deformities, stress fractures and tendinopathies.

Chronic conditions like diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, gout and osteoarthritis can also cause foot pain.

Your GP will determine a treatment plan for your foot pain after identifying the underlying cause. They may also refer you to a podiatrist for treatment.
