What is rheumatic fever?
Rheumatic fever can happen if a throat infection isn't treated. It can affect your joints, heart, skin and brain. It is not common but can happen at any age. Your GP will talk to you about your symptoms and medical history to diagnose you. If you are diagnosed with rheumatic fever, you will be admitted to hospital for treatment.
